Immediate and alternative routes
Use the fastest appropriate route. If somebody is in immediate danger, do not wait for Mako to respond.
A concern can relate to something you experienced, witnessed, heard or were told. You do not need proof or the correct safeguarding terminology before asking for help.
Immediate danger
Call 999 if somebody is in immediate danger, seriously injured, requires urgent medical help or a crime is in progress.
Call 999Mako Welfare Lead
Glen Barnes is Mako Running’s first point of contact for safeguarding and welfare concerns.
Alternative Mako route
If the concern involves Glen, or you would feel more comfortable using another route, contact Rob Barnes directly.
Report outside Mako
A serious concern involving a child or an adult at risk can be reported directly to UK Athletics. You do not need to tell Mako first.
Not sure which route applies? Ask for advice rather than waiting. For non-emergency police assistance, call 101. Local safeguarding and specialist support routes are listed in Policies and Official Guidance.
